News Updates as of Thursday, December 1st:
1. We are going to have a 6th grade winter celebration day- Pajamarama Day- we are calling it- on Friday December 16th to wish students well on their winter break. This is also Pajama Day at School. Students can bring in small sleeping bags or throw blankets to use when we show movies to go along with treats in the afternoon.
2. To put on this fun day, we would like to serve hot cocoa and marshmallows as well as holiday cookies on Friday, December 16th. We need all food dropped off by 12:30 PM and the treats be served at 1 pm after lunch. We will need 12 parent volunteers to help out to serve the hot water. Please email your child's homeroom teacher or Mrs. Spaccia directly if you are able to help. Thank you in advance for your donations and for making this a happy holiday event for our kiddos. Please click on the sign up genius link below to sign up for treats:

---Also, we would like to have a book and recipe gift exchange where students can bring in a used or even new book if they want- to exchange with fellow 6th grade students. For the recipe exchange- students will simply type up a recipe and bring it printed out to share. This is a great reinforcement of the fraction concepts they are currently learning about in math! Please note that only students who bring in recipes and books will be able to participate in this event. Students will exchange books for books and recipes for recipes- not recipes for books or vice versa. There will be two ongoing exchanges. Recipes do not have to be holiday themed- It could just be a family favorite dinner or snack.
3. The last CIMI payments were due by Friday, November 18th. ALL students tuition which is $305.00 should be paid in full as of today- please make your final payments. This is important as we have to give CIMI a final reservation count (this is part of our contract with CIMI) in early January and if we DO NOT have the full payment, it may affect your child's ability to attend this tripIf you are not, please pay the remaining balance. If you are not sure of your remaining balance, please email Mrs. Spaccia or Mrs. Reano. Mrs. Reano took on the large task of tracking these payments and sent home a personalized balance report for your child to let you know what your remaining balance is. These forms were sent home around the 18th of November. Please ask your child for the form if they have not given it to you.
4. We recently completed benchmark tests for math and language arts and we are in the process of compiling the data and reconfiguring our workshop groups to meet the academic needs of our students. All data should be configured by early January.
5. We will be starting a new unit in STEAM that Mrs. Kennedy has designed around a Pinecar theme and we will be sending out a sign up genius shortly for supplies. Please keep an eye out for this if you are able to help out.
6. Please see announcements below about current fundraisers!

Dear Parents,
On Monday, November 21st we held our parent workshop. In this workshop we discussed several topics including our new website design and changes to the late work policy. Please click on the PDF link below to see the slideshow that was shared at that meeting. For the late work policy here are the changes:
1. All 4 teachers are accepting assignments up until December 9th as "On Time" due to the fact that our grading was put on hold by Mr. Cusack while he decided which version of PowerSchool Grades the four teachers would be using. Assignments will be considered late after December 9th for any assignments that have been entered into the gradebook.
2. New Late Work Policy: Moving forward, students have 4 school days from the date the assignment was entered into PowerSchool to turn in an assignment before it will no longer be accepted for a grade. Please check the website to see when assignments are due.
